Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) September 7, 2010
Today, Santa Fe Mayor David Coss and Qnuru™, the first provider of energy efficient lighting solutions, held a “wire clipping” ceremony to mark the installation of solar-powered luminaires in three of the town’s public parks. The Qnuru off-grid fixtures, named the “Santa Fe” in honor of the municipality that inspired their design, illuminate Frenchy’s Field Park, a 17-acre “understandable park” that occupies an important link in the city’s extensive-space network of trails and parks. In addition, the Santa Fe solar fixtures are being installed in Santa Fe’s Salvador Perez and Monica Lucero parks. The off-grid luminaires were commissioned by the Santa Fe Parks Separating and designed for Qnuru by Tom Joyce, a MacArthur-award winning metal smith whose sculptures have been exhibited at the Smithsonian Medical centre in Washington, DC, the Boston Museum of Fine Art, and the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. The fixtures are ETL-Listed, drab-sky friendly and made in the U.S.
Other innovators, downcast with expense and/or skilfulness limitations of thin-glaze silicon, have focused on alternatives to silicon, evidently composite semiconductors such as copper indium di-selenide (CIS), copper indium gallium di-selenide (CIGS) and cadmium telluride (CdTe). Researchers have laid the preparations. The European Federation's fifth framework Great Playing in Buildings (HIPERB) program, for occurrence, specifically addressed the evolution of thin-layer solar CIS modules optimized for unchanging desire-stint appearance in BIPV applications. Researchers at the USA's NREL have sought reproducible processes for making elated-productivity CdTe devices, where an ultra thin semiconductor layer is feasible. Exterior Solar made waves a three of years ago by selling its well established crystalline silicon PV interests to SolarWorld AG in hierarchy to centre on CIS, which it says is seemly to become outlay-competitive with retail dash before silicon. It claims that CIS is in essence cheaper to show than silicon, with a fraction of the substance input, and has achieved efficiencies of greater than 13.5%. Solutions of CIS materials are sprayed onto lorgnon layer in layers to construct in general solar surfaces, avoiding the stress for complex wiring and putting together. A unwrinkled wicked administer makes the merchandise visually correct for BIPV applications. And Avancis , a intersection broach with Saint-Gobain Magnifying glass , has on manufacturing CIS solar panels recently. Texas-based HelioVolt Corp. hopes...

Recently I saw an article about ways to help people who have become homeless due to the economy, natural disasters, and war vets that were not able to return into the working force after leaving the military. There were lots of plans and ideas about how to go about it but none of them seem to have a more permanent solution to helping the individuals.
One idea did capture my attention, it was about using currently built apartment buildings, or other temporary housing such as mobile
No, governments should not be responsible for these projects; they are too expensive. We don't need higher taxes than we already have, and it is not our responsibility.
The problem with solar power is the price and limited lifespan. On top of that, solar panels need to be replace every ten years or so, and guess where it would end up, the landfill.
The best a person can do is be conservative with their power usage.
