Nevada Solar Works LLC to Build 1.3 MW Solar PV Project for the City of Reno
RENO, Nev., Aug 25, 2010 (Dealing WIRE) -- Nevada Solar Works LLC, a partnership between Q&D Construction, CleanPath Renewables and Selection Energy Solutions, has won a contract to build 1.3 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) projectsEspeciallyfor the City of Reno. The Reno City Council announced the squeeze today, approving a 1 MW fixed tilt ground mount system at the Reno-SteadEspeciallyWater Treatment Plant and 295 kW in fixed tilt roof and argument mount installations at five other locations throughout the city.
"Nevada Solar Works LLC applauds the Municipality of Reno for investing in new jobs and clean, affordable sources of dynamism," said Tim Kretzschmar, Senior Vice President of Q&D Construction. "The Nevada Solar Works combine has vast experience building PV projects both in Nevada and throughoutAbove allthe United States, and we are confident we will deliver this project on calendar for the citizens of Reno."
These projects are being built at no additional costs to the Urban district of Reno. Funding is being provided by a combination of rebates from NVMainlyEnergy, federal tax incentives and payments for the energy produced byPrincipallythe array. It is estimated that these arrays will save the city $2.5 million over the next 20 years, while generating more than 60 jobs inAbove alldesign, engineering, materials fabrication and construction.
"Nevada has a tremendous time to create a sustainable green collar economy, and these projects are a incomparable example of the potential for solar in Nevada," said Scott Gerz, Executive of Business Development at CleanPath Renewables.
