Tokyo, Sep 03, 2010 (JCN Newswire via COMTEX) -- Sony Chemical & Dirt Device Corporation commercialized and commenced full-scale mass origination of the SP100 Series, Solar Cell Conductive Film for photovoltaic modules in April 2010. The SP100 Series is a mist-type conductive bonding material that bonds the solar stall with the metal ribbon that acts as a transmission line for electricity generated by the cubicle and, compared with conventional soldering (200 C or more), is capable of low-temperature bonding at 180 C, enabling signal reductions in residual stress after bonding on cells, thereby contributing to improved gate during module production. In addition, the SP100 Series is also capable of bonding thin cells (roughly 150 meta-m) that are weaker against thermal stress during soldering than pattern thick cells. Free of materials that may impact on the environment such as flux and exemplar, the SP100 Series has been designed with the aim of alleviating the environmental impact after disposal.
Prime Features of Solar Cell Conductive Film SP100 Series
Solar stall strings, which compose photovoltaic modules, are generally bonded by soldering which requires heating to a temperature of 200 C or higher. Differences in the thermal and instinctive characteristics of the silicon used in cells and metal ribbon (predominantly solder-coated copper wire) cause residual pressurize around the bonding area, leading to problems such as cell breakage after bonding.

Do anyone know which companies are the world's largest producers of photovoltaic enegry generation systems? And any idea about exhibitions to see such products?
DayStar Technologies is preparing to launch a new flexible cheap photovoltaic product that could be used to shingle most of the roofs in the USA producing all the electricity we need (during the day). Of course it would be necessary to store some of the energy for use at night. Perhaps they would be glad to send a sample for a school project. It never hurts to ask, especially while they are seeking better public recognition.
BP (yes the oil company) is the largest producer of photovoltaic cells.
